Nominated Individual Network

Skills for Care is delighted to announce the launch of its South West Nominated Individual (NI) Network, which is taking place on 24 September 2024 (11.00 – 12.30) via Zoom.

If you hold the role of Nominated Individual within your organisation, this new network will explore your role and responsibilities further. By attending, you will hear  about current opportunities, sector challenges, and ways to overcome them, and there will be an opportunity to network with your peers.

At this launch meeting we will be joined by Caroline Coleman of Coleman Training who worked with Skills for Care to develop “The Nominated Individuals Handbook: A Practical Guide” which is available to download here

Discussion topics will include:

  • What is the role of Nominated Individual and why is it important?
  • Relationships between the CQC and the Nominated Individual role
  • Supporting the registered manager and taking the role of a critical friend
  • Managing the dual role of registered manager and nominated individual

Are you interested in what makes good leadership in social care and would like to share your thoughts?

Skills for Care is working in partnership with NHS England (NHSE) to develop a joint managers code of practice across health and social care.

The new code will provide a unified and consistent base for our leadership development of managers.

We’re inviting registered managers and other managers working at a strategic level to attend a virtual session to share your thoughts on the key information that should be included, to ensure it meets the needs of the social care sector.
